Transferring a call with a Yealink desk phone can be done in two ways: warm (attended) or cold (blind).

Warm transfer

With a warm transfer, you speak to your colleague first before connecting the caller. For example, you can let them know who is on the line.

  1. Answer the call
  2. Press Transfer (on newer models, this is a soft button below the screen)
  3. Dial your colleague’s number (e.g. endpoint 303) and press Send
  4. Your colleague answers — let them know who is calling
  5. Press Transfer again
  6. The caller is now connected to your colleague. You can hang up.

Cold transfer (blind)

With a cold transfer, you forward the call directly without speaking to your colleague first.

  1. Answer the call
  2. Press Transfer
  3. Dial your colleague’s number (e.g. 303) and press Transfer

The call is transferred immediately.
