Transferring Calls with Yealink
Transferring a call with a Yealink desk phone can be done in two ways: warm (attended) or cold (blind).
Warm transfer
With a warm transfer, you speak to your colleague first before connecting the caller. For example, you can let them know who is on the line.
- Answer the call
- Press Transfer (on newer models, this is a soft button below the screen)
- Dial your colleague’s number (e.g. endpoint 303) and press Send
- Your colleague answers — let them know who is calling
- Press Transfer again
- The caller is now connected to your colleague. You can hang up.
Cold transfer (blind)
With a cold transfer, you forward the call directly without speaking to your colleague first.
- Answer the call
- Press Transfer
- Dial your colleague’s number (e.g. 303) and press Transfer
The call is transferred immediately.
