With area code routing, incoming calls are forwarded based on the caller’s area code. The caller is automatically connected to your nearest branch or employee without having to do anything.

When to use area code routing

Area code routing works well when you have multiple branches across the country and want callers to reach the nearest one automatically. With one phone number the entire organization is reachable, and routing takes care of the rest.

If you have multiple branches within the same area code region, postcode routing gives you more precision — callers enter their postcode digits and are forwarded to the branch in their neighbourhood.

How to activate

Contact support to set up area code routing for your phone number. You provide a list of area codes and the destination for each. Once configured, routing works automatically for every incoming call.
