About Slovenian phone numbers

We offer three types: 80 toll-free numbers which are free for callers, 82 national numbers for a nationwide presence, and local geographic numbers (e.g., 01 for Ljubljana, 02 for Maribor, 03 for Celje) for a city-specific presence.

80 toll-free numbers are available with a worldwide address. Whether an 82 national number needs an address in Slovenia, we check with you before you order. Local geographic numbers require an address in the number’s area-code zone.

An 80 number allows customers to call you for free from any Slovenian landline or mobile network. You, as the number owner, cover the call costs. This is commonly used for customer service lines in Slovenia. Note that 80 toll-free numbers can only be dialed from within Slovenia — they cannot be called from abroad.

Slovenian numbers use the country code +386. Domestically, all numbers are dialed with a trunk prefix 0 followed by an 8-digit number. For example, a Ljubljana number would be 01 XXX XX XX domestically or +386 1 XXX XX XX internationally (dropping the leading 0). Toll-free numbers are 080 XXX XXX domestically or +386 80 XXX XXX internationally.

Slovenia has five main geographic area codes: 01 for Ljubljana, 02 for Maribor, 03 for Celje, 04 for Kranj, and 05 for Nova Gorica and Koper. These were reorganized in 2000 when the leading 6 was dropped from all area codes.
