088 numbers are national, location-independent phone numbers, so not tied to a specific city or region. They are issued per block of 100 or 1000 consecutive numbers in the name of companies and operators by the ACM, and may only be used by the applicant themselves. Especially useful for companies with multiple locations: with your own 088 number block you are reachable nationally with all your departments and locations.

The cost of calling 088 numbers is charged by the telecom provider at the regular local rate. In most cases this is simply included in the call bundle, just like with regional numbers.

The fastest and easiest way is of course via our 088 number request page. You can also request the 088 number block yourself from the ACM, but if you do it via us, we will arrange the registration completely free of charge for you.

The ACM usually needs about 2 weeks to process and approve your application. After that we need 5 working days to activate the number block in the national telephone network.

088 numbers can also be called from abroad. In that case, add the country code +31 for the Netherlands, so you call +31 88 followed by the number.
