DenyList routing
Where the call filter lets you control who can and cannot call, the DenyList is purely about blocking. You maintain a list of numbers that should never reach your team. When a blocked number calls, the system intercepts it before it rings — the caller hears a message or busy tone, your team is never disturbed.
Send us the number you want blocked and it takes effect immediately. You can block individual numbers, entire ranges, or anonymous callers.
- Block specific numbers instantly
- Block entire number ranges
- Set temporary or permanent blocks
- Blocked callers hear a message or busy tone
Benefits of DenyList routing
Discover how our features help you work smarter, save time, and improve how your business communicates.
Stop nuisance calls
Persistent telemarketers, spam callers, and robocalls are blocked before they reach your team. One entry on the DenyList and the number is gone for good.
Manage problematic callers
If certain individuals are disruptive or abusive, add them to the DenyList. They cannot re-contact your team through your CallFactory number.
Keep your team focused
Every unwanted call that gets through costs time and breaks concentration. The DenyList removes those interruptions so your team can focus on real customers.
Protect your lines
During busy periods, every line matters. Blocking known nuisance numbers keeps your capacity available for the callers who matter.
How DenyList routing works
When a call comes in to your CallFactory number, the system checks the caller’s number against your DenyList before forwarding the call. If the number is on the list, the call is rejected immediately — the caller hears a busy tone or a recorded message, and your team never sees the call.
To add a number to the DenyList, contact our support team with the number you want blocked. The block is applied instantly and works across all your CallFactory numbers, so one entry blocks the caller from every number in your account. Removing a block is just as easy — let us know and it is done immediately.
Block number ranges and anonymous callers
Sometimes nuisance calls come from a series of numbers rather than a single one — automated diallers that rotate through a range. Instead of adding each number individually, you can block an entire range in one go.
Anonymous callers are another common source of unwanted calls. If your business has no reason to accept calls from hidden numbers, you can add a blanket rule to block all anonymous callers. If you do occasionally receive legitimate anonymous calls, our support team can trace a specific anonymous caller by date and time and add only that number to the DenyList.
Temporary and permanent blocks
Not every block needs to last forever. If you are receiving a wave of nuisance calls during a specific period — after a marketing campaign, during a product launch, or following a public listing — you can set temporary blocks that you remove once the situation calms down.
Permanent blocks are for the numbers you never want to hear from again. Both types are managed the same way, and you can switch a temporary block to permanent or vice versa at any time.
What blocked callers hear
You decide what happens when a blocked number calls. The default is a standard busy tone, but you can also play a recorded message — for example, informing the caller that the number is not available or directing them to an alternative contact method such as email.
This keeps the experience professional even for blocked callers. They do not hear your IVR menu, they do not enter your queue, and they do not consume any of your team’s time.

Call filter
Block unwanted callers, allow only authorised numbers, or reroute specific callers to different destinations. The call filter keeps your business lines open for the calls that matter.

Restrict your business line to approved callers only. Only numbers on your whitelist get through — everyone else is blocked or sent to voicemail.
Whisper tone
A short audio message tells you which number was called before you answer — whether it is a business call to your mobile, a specific webshop, or an international number.
