Change final destinations
Your business number is virtual, which means incoming calls can be forwarded to any phone you choose — a mobile, a landline, a VoIP device, or all three at once. When your situation changes, you change the destination. Moving offices, working from home, handing calls to a colleague — it takes a few clicks in the dashboard and the new routing is live immediately.
Add as many extensions as you need. There is no limit on the number of devices that can receive calls on the same number, and no restriction on where those devices are located. A colleague in London, another in Berlin, a third working from home — they all ring on the same business number.
- Forward to mobile, landline, or VoIP
- Change destinations anytime via the dashboard
- Unlimited extensions per number
- Route calls to devices in any country

How changing destinations works
Every CallFactory number has one or more extensions — these are the phone numbers (mobile, landline, VoIP) that actually ring when someone calls your business number. You set these up when you activate your number, and you can change them at any time afterwards.
Log in to the dashboard, update the extension, and the change is live within seconds. You can also call or email our support team if you prefer. There is no limit on how often you change destinations — some customers update their routing daily based on who is working.
Multiple extensions on one number
You are not limited to one destination per number. Add an extension for every colleague, every device, or every location. When a call comes in, the system follows the ring order you have defined — first the office phone, then the mobile, then a colleague — until someone picks up.
This is how small teams stay reachable without expensive hardware. A three-person team can each have their mobile as an extension on the same business number. When a customer calls, all three phones ring simultaneously or in sequence — you configure the behaviour in the dashboard.
Forward calls internationally
Extensions are not limited to your headquarters. You can add a phone number in any country as a destination. A business number can forward to a mobile in Spain, a landline in Germany, or a VoIP device in the United States — all at the same time if needed.
This makes it easy to set up a distributed team. Your customers call one central number, and the call reaches whoever is available regardless of where they are. Combined with a whisper tone, each team member knows which number the caller dialled before they pick up.
Combine with other features
Changing destinations becomes even more powerful when combined with other CallFactory features. Set up calendar-based routing so destinations change automatically based on your office hours. Add a call queue so callers wait in line when all extensions are busy. Use a phone menu to let callers choose which department they need before the call is routed.
If you need routing that goes beyond what the dashboard offers, our API lets your own software update destinations programmatically — for example, based on your internal planning tool or staff calendar.

Calendar-based call routing
Automatically route calls based on your schedule. Office hours, rotating shifts, holidays, and on-call rosters — calls always reach the right person at the right time.
